D-Rose: Thanks for your support

It’s been a rough summer for the NBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year. Not only was Derrick implicated in an NCAA investigation of Memphis which allegedly involved him having someone else take his SAT, he also got blasted for a photo that allegedly shows him flashing a gang sign. The NCAA hasn’t ruled on the cheating allegations, and Rose said (through a team-issued statement) the photo was taken at a party in his Memphis days and was a bad joke.

Derrick hasn’t had much to say since those events went down, but he kinda-sorta broke his silence yesterday. According to the Associated Press: “Rose posted a 2 1/2-minute video on his Facebook page that started with him thanking fans for their support and showing clips of his workouts in Los Angeles. He did not address the issues surrounding him.” Here’s the video:

I think this is the only thing we care about anyway. He looks a little bit stronger now and who isn’t glad to see that’s he just in the gym doing what he does best. I don’t need a public statement…this guy’s game is the only thing that matters.

He’s the real deal. Taking the whole summer to work on his game. I sort of wish other players on the team would keep us updated with a video or two to show how they are doing…keep the fans involved
