Boozer: I love Miami

Less than a week ago, Carlos Boozer was telling ESPN Radio 1000’s Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman that Chicago was his kind of town. In fact, I believe his exact words were something along the lines of “Great organization, top notch from top to bottom…I’d love to be part of the Chicago Bulls.”

Love sure is a fickle thing.

Now? Boozer’s feeling the heat. The Miami Heat, that is. And why not? He lives in Miami during the offseason and runs an annual summer basketball camp at Gulliver Prep Academy in nearby Kendall.

Said Carlos: “My wife [CeCe] and I first came here for tax reasons and fell in love with it. Love the palm trees, the laid-back attitude, the sun, quality of life. It’s like paradise here, and I would love to be part of the Heat. They’re a very good team, and I’m real close to some of the guys. Dwyane [Wade] and I started to get close at the Athens Olympics in 2004, and I’d love to play on his team.”

Translation: I will love whichever team gets me the heck out of Utah.

Rumors in Miami have had a three-way trade sending Boozer to the Heat, Udonis Haslem and Dorrell Wright to the Utah Jazz, and then shipping Wright the Memphis Grizzlies. Does that made any more sense than the potential three-team deal between Chicago, Utah and Portland? Who knows at this point. The rumors aren’t going to stop until the Jazz have rid themselves of Boozer.

I don’t know about you, but I wish something would happen. I’ve probably been running more Google News searches for “Carlos Boozer” and “Chicago Bulls” than his mom and agent combined. Maybe the President can get this situation straightened out. After all, he’s going to be hanging out with the Bulls later this week.

According to Christi Parsons of the Chicago Tribune: “President Barack Obama is planning a trip home Thursday for a dinner with political supporters and a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, his first Chicago political event since his election last fall. After a stop in Ohio, the president will head to Chicago for a private dinner organized by fundraiser Penny Pritzker, then plans to join members of the Chicago Bulls for a hotel event to raise money for fellow Democrats.”

One person who won’t be chilling with the President is Anthony Roberson. The Bulls have waived him. I know. I never thought the Roberson Era would end this way either.

Tyrus is going to have a big year. Who cares about boozer. Between Tyrus and new rookies Johnson and Taj Gibson I think we’ll be fine.

The Bulls do not need Carlos Boozer right now, they should wait and see how Ty Thomas plays 1st during this new season. If he plays really good and starts putting up big #’s with more rebounds, block shots and steals, then the Bulls should sign him up again for the next season. If not, they should trade him during the deadline and pick-up a better PF player like David Lee or someone else. Plus the Bulls got their 2 new rookies that can play the Forward Shot as a back-up. So as of right now, I think the Bulls lineup is going to be just fine. People lets not forget, this is still a young team and getting better each year.

Wow! The optimism is running rampant in here today! It’s making me feel so good …so tingly all over. Is this what it feels like to be a Cubs fan???

Okay, before this gets out of hand, let me inject a little of my specially brewed pessimism. I can’t believe we just let… (what’s his name again? oh yeah…) Anthony Roberson go! This is B*** S***! Roberson was pivitol in last years “Run To The First Round”. And I distictly remember one of the players attributing the great atmosphere in the locker room to the efforts of “Ant-Rob”.

The fact that Bulls management is incapable of showing any loyalty, (dare I say grateful-ness?) to its players does not bode well for the recruitment of the free agent class of 2010. Boozer has already announced that he loves Miami more than Chicago; Need I say more???

***And there you go, Matt. Another Boozer referance lovingly crafted especially for you!

being a hardcore bulls fan, i’ve been keeping up on all these comments hoping to see something materialize from all these trade rumors. Once overwhelming trend is your guys love for Tyrus and i don’t get it. he’s too skinny to play against other PF’s and has no low post game. i understand the blocks and steals but you can’t go to him in crunch time.

Without gordon, we need someone to take th pressure off rose and boozer would provide that. i hear he is selfish and doesn’t play D but that is what you have noah and deng for on the weakside. i’m sorry but its hard to argue a solid 20-10 guy.

Do Chicago need a low post player, Yes!!! Would Carlos Boozer fill that role? Yes!!!! Would giving up Tyrus complete that void? Yes!! So why not, you have James Johnson who can fill Tyrus Thomas role on the team. Let’s think about this people. Boozer don’t love Miami he loves D Wade being in Miami and they can contend but D Wade isn’t staying there so therefore he’s coming to the bulls and D Wade, mark my words.

Forget Carlos Boozer People, The Bulls should make a trade for David Lee, giving up Ty Thomas, DeMarcus Nelson & Linton Johnson or Aaron Gray if they resign him. Lee is a better fit and a better player then Boozer. Plus, Lee is going to coast the Bulls less money, He is still young, he can score inside, outside, reb, play a little bit of defense and he is a health player that does not get hurt a lot during every season missing lots of games. So please Bulls GM make a deal for David Lee and forget Boozer!!!

we need carlos boozer, because we don’t have anyone strong in the paint other then our new rookies. The draft was good, forget joakim Noahbecause he can’t score the ball because he is to weak to get in and score. Brad miller is to slow, and he takes up to many salary space, if you want to get some body like d-wade than you need to let him go. tyrus thomas isn’t that good.

Anonymous, you don’t know much about players stat. David Lee is way way way better then Carlos Boozer because he works hard everyday, does not missed half a season each year, he is younger, he is also strong and can score inside the paint, rebound and play a lil bit of defense better then Boozer.
