The Bulls might have been on a flight to London, but they still found time to wish Derrick Rose a happy birthday. (He was born on October 4th, in case you’re wondering.) And here’s my very own, very special (and only slightly belated) birthday wish to the Great Poohdini. Oh, and here’s video of his party:
I don’t want to read to much into this. I’m sure most teams have similar celebrations. But whether they’re observing birthdays or celebrating buzzer-beaters, these Bulls players seem to really like each other. I’m not sure whether that will last through the grind of the NBA season, or whether it will translate into oncourt success even if it does last, but it can’t hurt, right?

I am sure there are teams that get along famously and still suck. (Although I can’t think of any off the top of my head.) But I bet any of us could name a few very talented ones, that come completely unglued because of a bad clubhouse. (Read: 2009 Cubs!) Therefore, I take this as a real positive. It also makes me feel better about VDN since the coach has so much influence over this area.
