Meet Luol Deng this Saturday

The catch? You’ll have to travel to Oak Lawn, IL. Oh, and you’ll only have a half hour to get his autograph. But it is for charity.

From the Southtown Star: “Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng will sign autographs and accept a donation on behalf of his charity this Saturday at the grand opening of Boost Mobile’s retail store, 6764 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn. The event begins at noon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a presentation of a $5,000 check to the Luol Deng Foundation. Deng’s charity has supported causes such as youth basketball camps and toy drives for the Chicago Housing Authority, Boost said. Deng will be available from 12:30 to 1 p.m. to meet with fans and sign autographs. For more information about the Boost store, call (708) 599-6400.”

Ok, nothing to say about this, so lets take it in another direction:

How glad are we that the Bulls didn’t take Beasley? The kid is talented, but he seems like a basket case. His first season was not impressive and then this??? Whew!

Also, just read that the Bulls might be picking up Carlos Arroyo. I have always wondered about him. I got to watch him play on the Pistons for a time and he seemed like a good player. Excellent dribbler, fearless to the hoop, and can make a shot. However, he has bounced around the NBA and never found a home. I can only surmise that he has deficiencies that the coaches see. Defense? Ball distribution? Locker room issues? I wonder why the Bulls are bringing him in to back up Pargo.

Really? I did not know that Brad. But, why in the world would the Bulls sign another guard like Carlos Arroyo? since they have a 5 man guard rotation with Rose, Salmons, Hinrich, Pargo & Hunter. Unless, they are planing to trade captain Kirk this season? (which I hope not) Oo0 and I also don’t have any comments about Deng signing autographs. I just hope that Deng can show us he is worth all that money and play at a higher level this season, like he did back in 06-07 ! If not, the Bulls need to trade Deng instead of Hinrich and get rid of his big contract.

I couldn’t have agree with you more lopez. Instead of traveling around signing autographs, Deng needs to continuing his training and get back into perfect shape, by making a full recovery from his legs this season. I just hope that Deng can still show us he is worth all that big money that the Bull invested in him back in 07-08 season. By putting up more points, rebounds & playing good defense. If not, the Bulls definitely need to trade him for another better SF player like: Rudy Gay, Gerald Wallace, Jeff Green or maybe even Stephen Jackson, since he wants to be traded.

Damn, I can see their are sum Deng haters out theri lol I don’t blame you guys b-cuz Deng has not shown us any positive signs so far since 08-09 seasons, after he got his big money contract. Deng needs to step up his game this season and play like an All Star, if he wants to play in a Bulls uniform again. If not, I like that idea of trading him for: Rady Gay, Gerald Wallace or Jeff Green like lopez mention. Can you guys Imagine, if the Bulls pick up Rady Gay in a trade for Deng! That guy is a beast!

Yah! I can see that happening, Deng for Rudy Gay in a trade that would be awesome! it’s like a dream come true. Hopefully, Deng can stay healthy and play at a higher level since BG is gone. Including Tyrus Thomas, since the Bulls still don’t have an inside dominate PF that can score at will and collect more rebounds when they need it. So I am expecting big numbers from both of them; Deng & Tyrus this season!!! If not, the Bulls need to trade them from better players to replace their spot like: Rudy Gay and David Lee. Can you guys imagine adding those two guys to the Bulls lineup?
    Starters:
    PG: D.ROSE
    SG: J. Salmons
    SF: R. GAY
    PF: D. Lee
    C: J. Noah
Now that is a monster killer lineup!!! lol

And don’t forget to include D. Wade for next years roster, if he is unhappy with Miami for not getting him other All-Star player like himself or they don’t make the playoffs or they lose again in the 1 round. Imagine, if the Bulls had this lineup for next year:
    PG: Rose
    SG: Wade
    SF: Gay
    PF: Lee
    C: Noah
I can smell a Championship team with that lineup baby! for 2010-2011.

those two lineups by max power and mike killer, are awesome lineups but unlikely to happen, i would prefer to keep deng even if he averages 17 ppg mayber 6 rpg and a couple assisit, he is a cornerstone peice to this team Deng creates match up problems and plays good solid D i love Rudy Gay don’t get me wrong, but like Mike Killer allueded to we need a post player even if tyrus has a big year trade his ass for a work horse like a david lee mid way through this upcoming year, and then hope that maybe we could either get D wade or Even a guy like Joe Johnson

I agree as well, but lets try to aim more for D. Wade then Joe Johnson for next year. Not that I don’t like Joe but with D. Wade the Bulls have a better chance of becoming a contender for a championship, if they don’t lose any key players. And the only reason y I would rather have Rudy Gay over Deng is b-cuz of his quickness, explosive dunks, youth and he is also a good defender like Deng close to the same height with long arms.
