Derrick Rose’s spectacular dunk (and some unintended charity from ‘Sheed)

One of the many great Derrick Rose moments from last night’s huge win over the Celtics was this steal-and-dunk sequence. And what a dunk! I think D-Rose has a little showmanship in him after all. (That budding showmanship almost resulted in a blown breakaway opportunity late in the game, but I can forgive that.) Notice how Rasheed Wallace wanted no part of being in Derrick’s poster.

Speaking of ‘Sheed, I’d like to personally thank him for the extra two points he scored for the Bulls.

That was mediocre by derrick’s standards but hands down better than any dunk by Nate Robinson this year at the Dunk contest. This may be a preview to Chicago’s next dunk contest winner. I think we all remember the last guy to win it for Chicago.

that was definitely 2 steps. maybe 3 depending on how you see it. but not 4 steps

Actually, he took TWO, you don’t count the dribble as having been picked up until it is being impeded from falling, so even though he took four steps between the last time the ball hit the floor and the dunk, the first two steps were still off the dribble.

I really don’t see the 4 steps you claim to have seen – he kind of did a pedaling motion while he was going up, which makes it even more amazing that he had that much hangtime, but he definitely didn’t travel on the dunk.

Derricks third best dunk of the year, the one over Dragic and the alley oop against the Hawk are #1 and #2, but this dunk is unbelievable too.

It looks so effortless for him
