According to John Jackon of the Chicago Sun-Times, Taj Gibson — who missed Chicago’s Friday and Saturday night games with a sore right heel — is doing better and expects to practice today.
Said Gibson: “I’ll practice, and I’ll be ready to go on Monday. It was tough watching the effects of [Saturday’s] loss on the whole team. I’m just looking forward to getting back to practice and get ready for the next game.”
Added coach Tom Thibodeau: “I think he’s fine. Like I said [Friday], if this was the regular season, he’d be playing. It’s more precautionary. He said he could have gone [Saturday].”
Allow me to wipe the nervous sweat from my forehead and allow relief to wash over me in an awesome wave. The Bulls can’t afford to lose Gibson for any extended stretch, not with Carlos Boozer out.
I am very relieved as well – If Boozer and Taj are out at the same time our post presence is basically non-existent. Hopefully this is not a lingering issue.
And now we are hearing that Korver has a cyst on his ankle and has been in pain – that is why he has been slower and not playing as well the past couple games. Looks like every Utah player we picked up has had some issues already.
The season is just around the corner, I hope the injury bug gets left behind with the pre-season!
Just need 2 vent after that debacle of a game against Orlando. Anyway I commented on another nba site discussing the game, found out that fans in general view us as overrated!?! We’re ranked 4th in the east with the best team weve had since 98. Had a few war of words with thosethat the Bucks, Hawks and Bobcats would end up seeded ahead of us. These idiots actually feel that the Bucks have a better team/coach than us….including some so-called Chicagoans.
One thing the Bucks do have going for them is that they are very deep at most positions. That will allow them to weather injuries better than most teams. However, when benches get shortened during the playoffs it favors the teams with the better top end players such as the Bulls.
