Trenton- I wholeheartedy agree with you on Thib’s stuborness which could have been avoided in the two most winnable games- I previously called it mantra of sorts- he wants to dictate how he wins which is often not reality. My statement about ball play and how the game is played by each of the players relates to a number of players,but at this at this point is it not detrermnative- to me the critical point is how Thibs’ game is coached..

I don’t agree that the Bulls players were selfish (if anything they were too unselfish in Game 1, see my Game 2 preview), but you’re right about Thibs being stubborn. He decides he wants to win with that closing lineup even though it was failing for a couple reasons.

I agree with your comments about Coach Thibs- there is a difference about practice and game coaching. What i saw here, and on many occasions was the inability or refusal to put or keep the right players in on critical times especially towards the end of the game. Both of these play off games were winnable by the bulls- all of the players do their best and play hard, although on a number occasions I question their playing judgment, court vision,and at times selfish instead of selfless actions.; – a factor the coach needs to direct by either advice or sitting the player. The coach needs to look at his personnel and has the responsibility to insert the appropriate players- basketball is a fast moving game, and you need to react appropriately. A head coach should also look to his staff- is staff advising or sitting there. The ultimate test is winning from a team game coaching perspective. It did not happen here. I have to give coach Whitman an “A” and coach Thibs a “C”
