Free Agent Watch: Bulls to work out The ‘Stache

The Bulls signed Kyle Korver to a three-year contract, have an offer sheet out on J.J. Redick, and might re-sign Brad Miller by the end of the week. Now – according to Wizards Insider Michael Lee – it seems they’ll be taking a look at…

…Adam Morrison.

Nope. That’s not a typo. I’m talking about the same Adam Morrison who will go down in infamy alongside guys like Darko Milicic and Kwame Brown as one of biggest NBA Draft busts of all time. The guy better known for his mustashe than anything he ever did on a professional basketball court.

Unless they’re trying to corner the “pasty white guy” market, I won’t pretend to understand why the Bulls would consider Morrison for anything other than “ball boy.” Sure, he hit a lot of big shots (in college) and has more NBA titles (2) than Charles Barkley, Dominique Wilkins, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing and Steve Nash combined (0). But unless he’s been bitten by a radioactive spider in the last week or so, he doesn’t have a single skill that would be useful to the Bulls.

Bulls better have a plan B shooting gaurd. It seems to me that Magic is definately matching Bulls offer to Redick. If he was heading to the Bulls, there would of been a sign a trade by now like Morrow. Bulls really droped the ball on not getting Morrow. You can add this to the list of bad moves by GARPAX. Hope I’m wrong.

Jerome James sat at the end of the Bulls bench and never took his warm-ups off. If Morrison is healthy, maybe the Bulls can get some minutes from the last seat on the bench.

@TexasBearsFan, Capt. Kirk shot 37.1% from 3pt range during the regular season and 50% during the playoffs. I would like to remind you that the Bulls had Elton Brand for a few years and he wasn’t chopped liver then like he is now.

@mike, sorry about that, iggy is a starter and scorer, but is a career 32.1% 3pt shooter. I am not sure if I would be willing to part with Deng to get him. I believe that either Redick or Korver can grow into being a starter, assuming the Magic do not match.

If we get Redick, I would like to see the Bulls add 2 of these three young guards, Acie Law, Shannon Brown and Shaun Livingston.

With Boozer, Deng, Gibson and Johnson as the forwards, I would like to see the Bulls add James Singleton, Louis Amundson, Matt Barnes, or Joe Alexander to the bench.

Even with Asik in the fold I think we nedd 2 more centers, ideally 1 is Brad Miller and either Kwame Brown or Josh Boone. Asik is an unknown quantity and probably a project. He should probably spend some time in the D-league.

Financially, all of the moves would be feasible and would represent a huge up-grade over last years roster. It would give Tibs more talent than VDN had, which should raise expectations for the Bulls in 2010/2011.

Actually, I mean Bulls should go on to Plan C shooting gaurd. Plan A was D. Wade or Joe Johnson, Plan B was JJ Redick and now Plan C will be some washed up hack that no one wants.

@Treydog, why so down? I don’t see the Bulls adding any aging vets yet. I see them building for the future as opposed to focusing on next season. Now I will agree with you if they add TMac. That would be tragic.

I hope the Bulls have a backup plan in case the Orlando Magic match the offer sheet the Bulls made this friday. Some like: 1.Ronnie Brewer, 2.Josh Howard, 3.Rasual Butler, 4.Shannon Brown or 5.Tracy McGrady. (next to K. Korver as our backup SG!)

The Bulls also need to address a backup PG next to D. Rose in case he gets hurt some like: 1.Earl Watson, 2.Shaun Livingston, 3.Ronald Murray, 4.Acie Law or 5.Carlos Arroyo.

@BBOB, although Bulls lost out on Wade, Bosh, and L. James, I think the Bulls are dropping the ball on other free agents as well. Obvously, GARPAX are high on Redick but trying to sign a restictied FA is risky and JJ is more important to the Magic than the Bulls realize. In the meantime, while the Bulls wait for the Magic’s decision, Bulls are losing out on more key FAs. Morrow could have been a done deal by now. Trying to sign Redick may prove very costly in terms of signing other quality FAs. Hope I’m wrong.

people why are you so quick to throw out the bulls signing TMAC he would be great for the team in lots of way and to top that he may just turn out to still have what it takes to be the man you know least provide some good mins while he is in the game also he would also come at a low price plus the upside is he might just find his game again on the bulls not saying its gonna happen but hey we signed Ben wallce and what good did that do us and it cost us a whole lot of money why not Tmac why not us why not now.

Thank you reggie. I mean our goal was to land the HR in Free Agency and since the 3 jerks decided to play in Miami, well lets just not settle for role players. We got our low post scorer in Boozer, something we have lacked since the Elton Brand era. Now hey TMAC was an elite star in Derrick Rose’s Rookie yr until he got injured. lAst season I don’t know if TMAC was even motivated (yes he was “injured” but he may not have been in a hurry to get back especially when you have to play for the sorry Knicks)—Houston was going another direction from being an Elite TEam out West and I mentioned the sucky Kncisk already. TMAC wil see how talented our roster is and the guy that will be the greatest PG ever in Rose that he can play with and he may think he is the missing piece to the Title. HE also may be motivated to help the Bulls out just so he can get a shot at the Miami Big 3 as well to prove to everyone that he can measure up to them or even outdue them. He will come cheap so why not try it.

Yea we really need to do something at the Guard position even if we get Reddick we need another SG (Korver is a SF in my opinion) and PG. Why the front office appears to be dragging their feet while some pretty good guards are signed by other teams is beyond me. Unless, they plan to trade I don’t know why they are waiting. We clearly need depth at the guard positions in order to be a well rounded team.

Hey I heard on Comcast Sportsnet Chicago that we may get Josh Howard. Anyone think this is a go. I’d be down with it. Josh Howard is a very underrated player and a descendt shooter as well. I believe Luol can play the 2 and Howard the 3 and both those guys can be good matchups to guard Wade and Lebron with their length and determination. If Bulls have a good amount of wins this season then Deng will play awesome like he did in late/postseason 2006-07. Deng needs to be motivated on a winner to be of value. Then you’d have backup SG Reddick and backup SF Korver. Resign Acie LAw (who played very good in games Rose was out last yr) and Miller then the Bulls are one of the deepest talenetd teams in the league.

Man, I thought that this was going to happen. News reports on Magic keeping both Redick and Barnes. IMHO, GARPAX have been behind the 8 ball throughout this whole free agency. Im disappointed.

Bulls signed Ronnie Brewer. Although he does not shoot lights out like JJ Reddick he is taller and bulkier and a much beter defender. He is a descendt mid-range shooter. Now lets hope we can sign Josh Howard as well and then maybe trade Dneg away for some better value.

I like the boozer signing lets hope he stays healthy, and we got korver, and brewer. and we have the next up and comming superstar in D-Rose on our team. Hey lets not forget about next years FA Class can anyone say Carmello Anthony would look great in a bulls uniform. GO BULLS
