Gibson and Heinrich held their own with Dunleavy and Nazr. The Jazz subs and bench have been awful. Not that the Jazz are wildly intimidating, but it should be a point of emphasis tonight. Hone the starters offense knowing that the bench will be able to hold their own.

There isn’t suddenly a talent deficit with this team — except maybe with D. Rose — so it’s probably more a matter of conditioning and focus on defense, and some rust and lack of chemistry on offense. They are not playing 48 intense minutes on D, and they are seemingly unable to score for vast portions of the game. This is crappy basketball, the likes of which we haven’t seen in the Thibodeau era (although tough competition from Indy and Miami surely has something to do with it also).

Thibs is the best coach in the league, I think, and he will get this fixed, so long as the guys still are sufficiently motivated by him.
