I don’t see how Rose could sit on the sidelines during the playoffs and not feel like he needs to be out there.

Strong players doing their jobs (Luol, Boozer), and gutty role players providing game-changing moments (Kirk on two physical plays, Jimmy on his dunk, and Nate with that huge late three). Kind of amazing they did it without Joakim too.

I will be interested to see how this group does in the playoffs without Rose, as seems likely now. I’m not sure they can turn in this kind of effort four games in a row, but the Bulls will not be an easy out for anyone in the East.

That said, they have significantly underperformed in the playoffs the last two years. Maybe Thibs can get them geared up the right way this year.

If winning streaks are harder today than they were in earlier eras, then why are they more common. Just this season we have seen winning streaks of 15, 17 and 27 games. Five of the top seven winning streaks in league history have happened since the year 2000. The previous second-best streak of 22 games in a row was accomplished just five seasons ago by a rather unremarkable Rockets team.

Again, what the Heat did was amazing. Having the second-best winning streak in history is nothing to sneeze at. Yet people are trying to find reasons why Miami’s run was better, more meaningful, more significant, or whatever, than the Lakers’ streak. They want to call it “the modern record” or what have you. Last time I checked, record books don’t have “Modern Record” sections.

Something can be great without people trying to make “Greatest Ever” claims.

1. Take note NBA teams … the greatest weakness Lebron has is his mind … get in his head and under his skin and you can beat his team … If he has no fear of you (Thunder in the finals) he will be relaxed and pick you apart.

2. Take note DRose … you have an opportunity to take a crack at the Heat in the playoffs WITHOUT playing a grueling 82 game schedule … IF you are as great and healthy as you say, you will never feel that great at this point in any other season … take advantage of it.

Great game again for all the Bulls that could actually suit up.

Great roundup. The quote from Rick Reilly was weird. That guy has been useless for 10 years and I never read his stuff. But he comes up here and he writes about Wrigley Field and I’m reminded why I dislike him.
