Ones writing preference continues to be astonished me personally. Thanks, very good content.

Yeah I’m worried that next year Hinrich will be the next Rip as well … he will make about 4mil and Rip’s has 1mil the bulls have to eat … so its basically another 5mil SG that can produce when healthy but rarely is … The bulls won’t automatically free up 5mil by waiving Rip … everybody gets raises … the cap situation will be pretty much the same.

Unless someone takes a discount contract, there are no good free agent SGs that the Bulls can sign. Give it to Butler and lets see how much better he becomes over the summer.

Rip is awful anyway. What a terrible contract. I’ll be so glad when he’s gone. Now we have to hope that Hinrich’s contract doesn’t become the new Rip contract.

Hinrich could be used as a starting SG next year. Teague, Butler, Gibson on the bench. Use Rip’s expiring contract to sign some bench help. And when Hinrich gets hurt (because he will), Butler can come in.

I’m hoping to see some more double-digit scoring from him. The Bulls probably won’t sign a solid SG this off-season (due to Boozer’s contract), so I’m looking for signs that Butler can fill that role next year. It’ll either be him or Marco next year (or if the Bulls let Marco go, some other 1mil SG). Butler is younger and has more promise, hopefully he can fill that SG for at least a year and we can see what happens.

Plus, Rip’s 5mil expiring contract should be used to bolster the bench.

“After all, there have been scads of injury problems in each of his [Thibs] three seasons.”
-Say what we will about Thibs, but that man has had terrible luck with injuries and he has done a fantastic job each season.
