Yeah I’m worried that next year Hinrich will be the next Rip as well … he will make about 4mil and Rip’s has 1mil the bulls have to eat … so its basically another 5mil SG that can produce when healthy but rarely is … The bulls won’t automatically free up 5mil by waiving Rip … everybody gets raises … the cap situation will be pretty much the same.
]]>Rip is awful anyway. What a terrible contract. I’ll be so glad when he’s gone. Now we have to hope that Hinrich’s contract doesn’t become the new Rip contract.
Hinrich could be used as a starting SG next year. Teague, Butler, Gibson on the bench. Use Rip’s expiring contract to sign some bench help. And when Hinrich gets hurt (because he will), Butler can come in.
]]>Plus, Rip’s 5mil expiring contract should be used to bolster the bench.
“After all, there have been scads of injury problems in each of his [Thibs] three seasons.”
-Say what we will about Thibs, but that man has had terrible luck with injuries and he has done a fantastic job each season.
