A quick Omer Asik update

K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune writes:

The Bulls’ three-day clock to match Omer Asik’s three-year, $25.1 million contract doesn’t begin until general manager Gar Forman receives the paperwork from the Rockets. Most involved in the situation expect that to happen Wednesday in Las Vegas after the Rockets hear back from the Knicks on Jeremy Lin’s offer sheet.

If the Bulls match on Asik, they will enter luxury tax territory for the first time. They are expected to pursue minimum-salary-type big man like local product Nazr Mohammed if they don’t match.

The clock is ticking. Free agents continue to fall off the board while the Bulls are standing around, wringing their hands, and trying to figure out what to do about Asik.

gotta love Asik but thats too much money for a player with no offense. We already have that issue. RELEASE

The Bulls management team stated the decision on Asik would be a basketball not a financial decision. Apparently all other decisions regarding making the team better will be financial decisions which mean the team will be terrible next year without Derrick Rose. Way to go Paxson and Forman!!!.

It really dosent matter what the bulls or any other team does this year with their roster, they cant beat the heat.

Adding Allen and Lewis does not make the heat unbeatable

So while their trying to figure out what to do about an overpaid back-up center their letting all these other key players go. When I won all my titles we had those key players which made the difference.

Bulls might as well trade Deng for a 1st round pick (if somebody that stupid would) so the Bulls can draft a PF to backup Gibson if he doesn’t leave via free agency, and amnesty Boozer NEXT YEAR to sign Monta Ellis.

The way some have made comments leads me to think they have no clue of B Ball yet they still speak that is ok but should learn more . Asik is gone if we keep him it is as dumb as the rockets matching the offer houston sent lin they are not worth the money you can get two asks at that price . Bu bye Seek and destroy its been real now time to move on enjoy the money

After picking up jeremy Lin houston may not even give Asik an offer. Especially if they end up with Dwight Howard. Chicago should give him an offer and if he doesn’t take it just drop him. Tell him take it or leave it. There are plenty of serviceable big men right now.

Anthony Randolph (been championing him all over)
    Andrey Blatche was just released
Carl Landry, too short for center, but a sold PF
    Chris Anderson just became available
    Troy Murphy

2012 is lost. Just get a boozer replacement and then use his money to get tyreke or monta. I think Tyreke is better cause he’s younger and cheaper.

Get rid of Boozer. Nothing the Bulls could do would matter if we keep Boozer; he’s killing us financially and on the floor.

It should just be like as if you bought it in stores, only no box, disc or manual.
