Yeah, he probably does deserve a suspension. You can't bump or touch a referee, in any sport, in any fashion that is remotely confrontational or aggressive. We all know this.

However you describe the contact, Kirk was campaigning for his own personal man-love post while following the referee - I mean, he was completely up his buttocks - and then kept going when the other ref pushed him away! In what universe do you think anyone is going to get away with that in David Stern's and Stu Jackson's NBA?

I agree with the point that VDN should have been restraining him, or a teammate.. but I very much agree with the policy that you cannot make physical contact with an official, ever, no exceptions, unless of course it is playful/friendly.

I didn't think Hinrich deserved a suspension. The Bulls have not gotten any calls of late. Now Rose is starting to get some calls but I am a fan was getting sick of being shunned by the refs. Good for Hinrich. At least he is showing he cares.

"Matt, Heinrich was clearly in the wrong in this case. Tommy Heinshom is blushing at how much of a homer you’re being right now."

Really? Tommy Heinsohn? That's a wee bit of a stretch. It's not like I'm freaking out or skinning a live kitten on national TV. (Okay. Tommy never did that. As far as you know.) I admitted Hinrich went crazy in my game recap, and I also conceded that Kirk never should have been that close to the ref, because it invites the possibility of physical contact.

BUT...Kirk walking into the officials -- one of whom purposely walked in his path and the other of whom stopped and turned when Kirk was right on top of him -- is different than Hinrich walking up to a stationary official and chest-bumping him.

Do you honestly feel that what Kirk did warrants a one-game suspension? I don't, based on the circumstances. It's not like I'm aruing against Kirk's initial ejection or proposing sainthood for him.

"I was at the game. What everyone here is failing to realize is that Vinny Del Negro should have simply gone crazy and protected his players."

Seemed like Vinny's inexperience at work. It's true that veteran coaches will often take a technical when their players are becoming obviously frustrated. But then too, Kirk has rarely gotten that fired up (like during his scuffle with Rajon Rondo in the playoffs last season), and I've never seen him go after a ref like that. I doubt Vinny saw that coming.

I was at the game. What everyone here is failing to realize is that Vinny Del Negro should have simply gone crazy and protected his players. Before the third tech was called this was still at least a tieable game. I know the Bulls are banged up and had multiple D leaguers out there, but Del Negro did NOTHING to protect Hinrich in that spot. He's supposed to get tossed, not arguably his best player on the floor. I don't see how the front office can envision bringing in any top tier free agent to play for this guy.

"Wow. You posted the video, but you still can’t see the obvious intentional contact? He was yelling in Bennie’s ear, and then he grabbed his arm (2:32 in the video)! Even his coach shoved him away."

Kirk was walking too close to Adams, no question. But Washington walked up and put his arm between Adams and Kirk (initiating the first contact) and then Adams stopped and started to turn around, at which point Kirk walked into him.

If I'm walking down the street really closely behind someone, then they stop and a collision ensues, that's different than if I try to walk into them.

You posted the video trying to make what case exactly?

How delusional do you have to be to ignore that?

What the announcers failed to mention is that Wade took at LEAST 3 full steps before any contact. The camera angle is hard to see but I think he took 4
