I love how everyone thinks the other teams are just going to let the Bulls have their good players or expiring contracts with out getting anything in return. Why would the other team want to make such a deal? Toronto is not giving up Bosh, or Phoenix Amar'e, or even NY Harrington and especially Chandler (too good at the cheap price) without getting a prime steak in return.

So what can Brown do for the Bulls? He makes John Salmons expendable, so I look for the Bulls to trade Salmons before the trade deadline but (hopefully) not Hinrich. If they can package him with some combination of Jarome James and/or Ty Thomas and/or a draft pick to get a post player, that would be gravy. But I'd settle for an expiring contract that would give the Bulls more cap space for the summer.

Here is one option I have not seen yet on the boards but would work for both teams and therefore have much better chance of actually happening.

Josh Howard ~$11M for Salmons + Jerome James, ~$12M. Howard might do well with a change in scenery. Otherwise his expiring contract give the Bulls ~$4.4M additional to throw at a superstar. Salmons may give the Mavs what they are not getting out of Howard.

Jay can you please stop smoking that strong drug, you said Salmons and Hinrich have the same value are you crazy??? Have you been paying any attention to how they are playing with Hinrich at the starting lineup? Hint: they are kicking a lot of teams butt. If anything the Bulls should only focus on trading: Tyrus Thomas, John Salmons, D. Brown or Jerome James with the Bulls draft picks to sweeten some deals. Nothing more because no more is going to want a guy like: J.J, Pargo or Hunter right now lol. Let's make some smart moves like I said earlier like:

John Salmons, Tyrus Thomas & the bulls 1st or 2nd round draft pick to sweeten the deal for Al Harrington & Wilson Chandler from New York. That way the Bulls can keep Al Harrington 10 million dollar this summer so they can have enough money to sign Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire or David Lee. Then the Bulls are set next year with a starting line up that looks like this:

Starters 2010-2011:
PG: D. Rose
SG: K. Hinrich or W. Chandler
SF: L. Deng
PF: Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire or David Lee
C: J. Noah
Bench:
J. Johnson
Taj Gibson
W. Chandler or K. Hinrich
1st or 2nd round draft pick player they choose
and other free agent solid players

why does everyone want to get rid of kirk. he is playing extremely well at the 2 gaurd. sense starting he is averageing 12 points, 5.6 assists, 1 steal and 3.4 rebounds. he can aslo stretch the floor for rose sense he is shooting 36 percent from the 3. everyone says he is not a good 2 gaurd cause of his size. WHAT?! wade is 6-4, manu is 6-4, and allen iverson is 6-0. kirk is 6-3 and not as long as wade or manu, but he is 6-3 and he is an awesome defender, he proved that aganst the celtics in the playoffs gaurding 6-8 paul peirce. 6-8, thats tall, does kirk need 2 be 2 inches taller to play SG when he can gaurd 6-8 people, i think not. keep the guy, winning has gone up sense he was put into the starting roll.

There are very few scenarios in which teams are going to pick up 3 years at 9 million a year for Hinrich. He's a decent player, but not worth that much.

John Salmons has one year left on his deal at 6.5 mil after this season. Realistically, you probably want to try and move Hinrich because of the larger figures, longer contract and quite frankly he and Salmons bring about equal value to the team.

I think we should only consider a move middle of the season if we can get:

1. Chris Bosh in a sign and trade (Toronto knows their losing him, I propose Tyrus, Salmons, First round pick and Jerome James to make the salary work). Toronto gets an expiring contract, two starters and a pick for someone they are going to lose for nothing.

2. Andrew Bynum for Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas (The Lakers have a better chance to win a championship with a floor general/defender like Hinrich and an athlete like Tyrus playing with Kobe. Point guard play and getting scorched by good PG's is their only weakness. Gasol and Bynum often can't play together against fast teams and Lamar Odom brings as much to the table as Bynum does).

3. (Riskiest one, means much less if we dont land Lebron,Wade or at least Joe Johnson).

Tyrus Thomes,Kirk Hinrich,James Johnson, Jerome James and a draft pick for Al Jefferson and Ramon Sessions. (Minnesota had one of the NBA's 50 greatest players for over a decade and accomplished zilch. You can't do it with just one great player, now they are trying to do it with just one kinda good player. They are destined to be lottery bound for the century at this pace. This gives them three starters and an expiring contract. We get an all star caliber post player and a decent backup for Rose. Then we would just need to add Dwayne Wade in the offseason and we would win a championship in the next 2 years and probably many after that. Noah, Al Jefferson, L. Deng, Salmons/D.Brown, D. Rose is a very good starting five. Insert Wade into that mix, or if not Joe Johnson and it's lights out Eastern conference.

I Agree, Kirk Hinrick is starting to play at a higher level ever since he became a starter and he is part of the reason why they are getting more W's now. I also like the idea of DJ of getting: Amare Stoudemire and Arron Collins to balance out the salary money with players by trading John Salmons, Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James and a 1st round draft pick or I like the idea of Al Harrington and Wilson Chandler trade involving John Salmons, Tyrus Thomas and a 1st round draft pick to get them. With either one of these moves will help the Bulls make a strong playoff run, if we get these guys. Can you guys image this updated roster.

Heard the Lakers aren't real happy with Bynum after missing the team plane. Trade Hinrich, Thomas & a draft pick for Bynum and Farmar. Go after Joe Johnson and David Lee in FA. I would like to see D Wade, Bosh or Stoudamire in Chicago but that might not be realistic. With a aging Boston team, a Cleveland team that may have problems with (due to who are the going to be able to afford to play around him) or without Lebron the following line up would boost the bulls into the top 3 in the Eastern Conference next year. Chicago may have to pay some luxury tax like every other good team in the NBA does but it shouldn't be to bad and would be worth it.

With Captain Kirk getting 33-38 min per game the Bulls are getting what they are paying for and also putting up some W's. He and Rose are a very good combination. Salmons has not given the Bulls what they saw after the trade last year, and consistency just isn't there coming off the bench. At this time Capt Kirk seems to be the "heart" of the Bulls, if he is sent away I believe that there will be a significant fall off in their performance.
