I've been voting every day for the all-star team. For who, you ask? For Luol Deng, because, besides the absence of Joakim Noah on the ballot, he is the only Bulls player that deserves to be on the all-star team this year.
Derrick, John, Kirk, and Tyrus (when you come back)- WAKE UP! We need you! Our record should be 9-2!!

While it's nice to hear that Rose recognizes how poorly he has been playing, it's still a serious concern. I was willing to (optimistically) cut him some slack due to his ankle issue, but if he says that he is 90%, then I'll take his word for it. And that makes the situation even more worrying.

Here's a player he showed high promise as a rookie, is known to be a dedicated and hard worker, yet he has emerged this season without any clear improvements other than a bit of progress with his outside shooting. His defense continues to be very poor, and while the coaching staff deserves some blame, all of the talk about Rose being the next great point guard seems a long way off at the moment.

The Bulls are getting by now on the play of Deng, Noah and Miller. Rose and Hinrich have been inconsistent at best. Rose is playing himself into shape as a result of the ankle injury. Hinrich, Pargo and Salmons must pick up their 3 pt shooting to help Rose be more effective. Kicking the ball out only works if you can consistently sink the long jumper. Rose will continue to suffer a high turnover rate as long as teams can colapse their defense when he penetrates. There is not simple answer. But we are seeing the beginning of the building of a championship caliber team with the drastically improved team defense that would not be here if BG7 was here. But I do miss his exciting scoring explosions.

Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar are guys Rose needs to be able to beat. Watching Dirk N. and Duncan go back and forth last night was an inspiration -- two guys who take it personally, will carry their teams, but most importantly -- they look at the defending player, and if they have a clear advantage, they ATTACK them without mercy.

The two real worries with Rose, at this point: does he have above-average talent at creating plays for others? And does he have the mentality to dominate consistently? He's extremely gifted, but I'm still waiting to see the intellect, passion and confidence necessary to be an All-Star PG.

I agree, Rose needs to be more aggressive by attacking the rim and drawing more contact to get to the free-throw line. I understand he is trying to improve his jump shot game but, he also needs to learn how to mix it up more, by taking 1-3 jump shoot, 1-2 three point shoots and 1-10 inside easy layups and dunks. Then his numbers will improve for sure! GO BULLS!!!

Phil Jackson's teams have always had problems against quick PGs, and this version of the Lakers especially so. This would be a great night for Derrick to get aggressive.
