Top 7 hopes for the 2009-10 season

Vince Carter. Shaquille O’Neal. Rasheed Wallace. Hedo Turkoglu. Ron Artest. All of these players were acquired by teams intent on making major improvements. Heck, even the New Orleans Hornets dealt the oft-injured Tyson Chandler for Emeka Okafor. Meanwhile, the Bulls lost their leading scorer and then signed Jannero Pargo (back from Europe!) and Lindsey Hunter (kept alive by the dark […]

Vintage Bill Wennington jersey!

Here’s the ideal gift for a Bulls fan who wants any and every conceivable piece of Bulls-related merchandise: a vintage Bill Wennington jersey! It’s only $79.99 and the shipping is free. This jersey could help you relive that amazing 8-point, 3-rebound, 6-foul game Bill had against the Indiana Pacers in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals. And yes, those were […]

Derrick Rose: Working on his shot

Here’s some exciting news for the Bulls (and scary-bad news for their opponents) — Derrick Rose has been working hard this summer on improving his jump shot: “About three weeks after the Bulls were eliminated by Boston, Rose was in Santa Monica, Calif., working on his jumper, conditioning and other aspects of his game with trainer Rob McClanahan. McClanahan […]

What you see is (probably) what you’re going to get

Derrick Rose, John Salmons, Kirk Hirich, Jannero Pargo and (rarely) Lindsey Hunter in the backcourt. Luol Deng (assuming he’s healthy), Tyrus Thomas, James Johnson and Taj Gibson at the forward positions. Joakim Noah and Brad Miller playing center. Aaron Gray and Jerome James watching silently from the end of the bench. Barring the inexplicable and unforseen, […]

Does Kirk know something we don’t?

According to Shania Sampson of the BlockShopper: “Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich has listed for sale his four bedroom, 3.5-bath at 816 Castlewood Lane in Deerfield for the asking price of $829,000. Hinrich paid $906,500 for the home in Aug. 2004. The 4,000-square-foot home was built in 2004 in the subdivision of Deerfield Park.” So […]

Jerry Reinsdorf answers questions

Brian Hanley of the Chicago Sun-Times had an interesting and rather revealing little Q&A with Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. (And the interview continues here.) I highly suggest reading the whole thing, but here are a few quick hits: Ben Gordon no longer fit in with the Bulls:“Now, fast forward to the end of [last season], we have [John] Salmons […]

Boozer: I love Miami

Less than a week ago, Carlos Boozer was telling ESPN Radio 1000’s Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman that Chicago was his kind of town. In fact, I believe his exact words were something along the lines of “Great organization, top notch from top to bottom…I’d love to be part of the Chicago Bulls.” Love sure is a […]

Bulls finish Summer League play

The Bulls’ Summer League schedule ended with a 93-85 victoryover the Minnesota Timberwolves. That gave them three straight wins and a 3-2 record overall. Rookie James Johnson led the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds. In five summer games, Johnson compiled some nice all-around averages: 16.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG and 3.6 APG. His 40 percent shooting was a little low […]

So the Jazz will keep Paul Millsap…

It’s official: The Utah Jazz have matched the offer sheet Paul Millsap signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. And what a hefty offer it was, worth $32 million over four years. This is yet another confirmation that Millsap is Utah’s future at the power forward position…and Carlos Boozer is their past. So of course it’s time for a fresh […]
